The
Hair & Beauty Academy is situated in the town of San Miguel de Salinas,
near Torreveija. The proprietors Debbie Clennel and Sandra Cunningham have
spent months researching the need for English qualifications for ex-pats who
now live in Spain. After a lot of searching for a governing body, and to which
English qualifications to use, they have teamed up with Edexcel International
to be able to offer NVQ qualifications to students.
THE
FUTURE
The Hair and Beauty Academy is now working to set up training courses in other
areas for which an NVQ can be achieved, i.e. Retail Management, Customer Service
etc., There are a lots of English ex-pats here in Spain and Debbie and Sandra
think they should be given the chance to achieve a qualification which will
help them gain employment and if at any time some of the students wish to
either return to the UK or try the glamorous life of working on Cruise Liners
they will have the qualifications to enable them to do this.
Plans are for larger premises by next year to give prospective students from
16 years upwards a choice in what they would like to do with their lives.
Having
been awarded accreditation by Edexcel to become an NVQ training centre, this
makes the Hair and Beauty Academy the very first NVQ centre here in Spain.
All the tutors within the Academy are fully NVQ qualified and have lots of
experience in the Hair and Beauty industry.
