INFORMATION OPEN DAY
On the 20th August, 2005, the Hair and Beauty Academy opened it's doors
to the general public. Debbie and Sandra had organised a full information
day for prospective students to come along and view the college, speak to
the principle, directors and the tutors and get information on their chosen
courses.
The doors were due to open at 11 am, but by a quarter to 11 there were people
already arriving. There was such a massive interest that everyone concerned
worked non stop until 4pm in the afternoon.
By the Monday evening, both the hair and beauty courses were full. These
were to start on September 5th.
This was wonderful news for all the team, as everyone had been working
so hard for months up to the open day. Because of the interest on the courses
on the days after the open day, Debbie and Sandra decided to start another
course to begin in October 2005, this course is now full.
The
next start date for the beauty courses will be April 2006 and May 2006. The
next hairdressing course will be starting September 2006.
"Obviously if we have succeeded in our ambition of moving to larger premises
within the first year, then we will be starting more courses sooner rather
than later" said Debbie and Sandra.
We are offering work based NVQ's in retail management and customer services.
These are available for people who are working within the retail business.
